Staying at the forefront of a demanding creative field requires constant exploration beyond commercial assignments.

Ivan Simeon regularly develops personal projects in collaboration with art school students, young entrepreneurs, and independent creators. These collaborations thrive on constructive dialogue, the exchange of different perspectives, and a genuine openness to unconventional approaches. They are the creative foundation that informs and elevates every professional mandate.

Collaboration: Norma Morel – Master’s Graduate, HEAD – Genève, Suisse (the photographs above and below)

This series made in December 2025 explores the intersection of contemporary fashion and visual storytelling. Norma's collection reflects a unique blend of technical expertise and avant-garde aesthetics, which I sought to capture in my studio in Geneva, Switzerland, in collaboration with her team and fellow students at HEAD - Haute Ecole d'Art et de Design - Geneva.

Working with a designer of her caliber allowed us to push the boundaries of conventional fashion photography. We focused on the synergy between the fabrics' movement and the designs' structural silhouettes, integrating my work on color to forge a narrative that is both bold and intimate. This collaboration was an opportunity to translate her creative vision into a compelling visual language.

STUDY ON COLOR 1 (2024-ongoing)

Exploring portraiture and colour in collaboration with HEAD - Geneva University of Art and Design student Ilona Roux.

Part 1 of a research project, which began by following and photographing the presentation of Marie Boutin's Master's thesis (HEAD 2024).

EXHIBITION (December 2023)

Ephemeral spatial installation "Portrait Disruption, The Exhibition"

Unconventional conceptual exhibition based on my photography research project on portrait photography. Produced in collaboration with young creatives and entrepreneurs.

The concept was to take my work out of its traditional "packaging". Add new dimensions, such as sound, smell, texture and spatial volume to the portraits. To do this, we recreated a laundry room with lots of emotional detail and included portraits and clothes linked to the idea. We went as far as to have some of the framed images wrapped in real washing powder packets and transported by students taking part in the project (see images 4,5,6,7 and 8 below)

For the record, the research project began in 2021, thanks to a grant from the City of Geneva.

The people photographed are themselves creatives and entrepreneurs. They bring their ideas and share their visions. The clothes come from recycling and are adapted, see upcycled.
